Have a high gpa, take honors and AP if you can...I'm pretty sure they didn't even look at recommendations or extracurriculars, or at least not closely. The essay is a joke, like 2 paragraphs, so write about something different but really succinctly.

They basically let in anyone. You're basically gaurunteed a spot if you write an essay without mispellings. If you have a High School GPA above 3.1 and an SAT above 1200, they'll offer you a spot on the honors.

Online application-your high school GPA is extremely important. For the honors college, your essays are the single most important factor. You have to have a 1350 SAT to apply, but it is not a factor in admission once you have met this minimum.
